I was going through a box of old things and found this journal from when I was in the second grade. I've left in all the cute mistakes :)
october 10
I like to go to school. It is a lot of fun. at school on fridays we have art. and we do math and reading. And that is why I like school a lot. Sometimes we have sharing circle. On Tuesdays we go to the libarry. We go to lunch at school and it is fun. And we even go out to the playground to play. We have a sandbox. And a jungle jim. we have monkey bars to. And that is why I like school. When I go home i do my homework. In homework we hafve math and spelling. And we have sience sometimes. We do a lot of fun things at school. It is fun that i go to school to learn. We have a bathroom for girls and boys. And i like school.

One Wensday at school we made a funny story. It was about a vampier. And we did fun things to do. we weven played a math bingo game and that was fun. And we had a substitute to. we had recess to. And are class was the first to get out for recess. We all had a lot of fun.

Today at school we told a story about pumpkins. On halloween my dad said we mite eat the pumpkin seeds. I like to eat them. And they are real real good that is why I like to eat them.

On Friday 13th my mom gave me a bath. is was hot when i got in. But when I got out is was cold. Then when I whet to school I found out. I was supeisd. And i had a bad day.

Today at school I had a good day. At lunch the food was very good. We had sharing circile. And resecess. And we rote inside are jorinlis. And that was a lot of fun. In the mornint when everybody came to school is was cold. And then I go home my mom said to do my homework.

Tuesday at the earthquake I was scard. Are TV went off. Are house startid to move. My dad said the car was moving too. I was so scard. My mom trid to call somebody. When my grandma came she said she could not control her car because the earthquiake. On the news they told about the bay brige. Then we went to frys store because it was open. And we went to visit. We were at home when the earthquake happend. Then we had ice cream before we went to bed. At school we talked about the earthquake. We rote in are journals about the earthquake. And that was a lot of fun.

On Halloween I am going to be a fairy princess. My baby brother is going to be a devil. We don't know what my littile sister is going to be. Maybe she is going to be a bunny. My mom got the spooky sound tape. It was scary. And we carved a pumpkin. I had a lot of fun that day.

On halloween night my sister and i went trick or treating. we had alot of fun my sister Renee was a solger girl. And i was a fairy princess. my baby brother Ralph was a devil. On Thursday it was the day we had to wear PJ's to school. I have PJ's and a matching night gon. One on my birthday and one from my grandma. I was shy to were PJ's to school. And that was a lot of fun. At lunch I would be more shy wearing PJ's to lunch. That is very funny to me. And there is no school Friday. and some fridays i stay up until 10:00. I like sunday because ewhen i read the comics they are very funny. most of the time my favorite comic is Cathy and Nancy. But i like school better. because they have math and spelling. they have reading too. everybody looked funny in PJ's. That would be a very shy day. That was so fun my little sister wonderd why I am wearing PJ's in the day time. That would be very silly. and fun.

Today we are having a popcorn party. And we played a game. That was fun. My mom is coming to a meeting at school. I like popcorn. We are getting one because we had fifty points. We are going to start over. It was a lot of fun. I like school a lot. Because they have math, reading, and spelling. And that is why I like school. I have a lot of friends. Jennifer lives across from my house. Last night, my mom went to nutri system. I color toilet paper things with my new markers. And i like the schools lunch. I like to play in the sandbox. Sometimes I turn a jump rope.

I like Christmas a lot. Yesterday my little sister and i got to help decorate the tree. When I was little I made a cookie star decorasine for the christmas tree. I had a lot of fun helping to decorate the tree. That was alot of fun. I think was in play school when I made the little star. I like to play with my little sister Renee. I cant, wait to find out what I got for christmas. We had fun last christmas because i got a lot of toys from Santa. My little sister and i got little animil stokens. I got a duck and my little sister got a rabbit. I like christmas best.

On Wensday, I went to Santas Secret Shop. I bot a ball, pen, and a pin for my mom. And a little rabbit foot that was purple. It was for my father. At school, we are going ot have a christmas program. We have been praticing all of the songs. I like Deep Freeze the most. It is a lot of fun at school. I always do my homework after school so I can have time to play. I like homework.
december 12
When it was my birthday, i got dance club barbie. After dinner last night, I went to go see Santa claus. He gave us some coloring books to color in. Today i colored to pages of it. It is a lot of fun visiting Santa Claus. I told him what I wanted for christmas. Today it was Dianne's turn to have I Am Special. She brought some picthers to show to us. I got to ask something. It was fun. On my last birthday my cousin spilld punch on me! It was so silly. I put on my shorts. School is a lot of fun. My cousin Ani is now in school. I play with her. And she bot a new house. I will ask my dad if I can go to her new house. It is a lot of fun when we play together. My other cousin got a new house, too. I like to play.

I like to help Carrie with her work. And I like to play with Linda and Ashley. We all have fun together. Sometimes we all play together. Sometimes we all play together. It is a lot of fun playing with them. And today I played with Mary. We went in the sand box.

Today i played with my barbies. And i am trying to make the teacher be in a good mood. she is in a bad mood. I like to play with my cosins at school. we have fun together. my favorite barbie i have is dance club barbie. they are nice dolls. I have fun playing with them. Today Ashley said she will not be Carrie's friend. But I will be Carrie's friend, but I still like Ashley no matter what. Yesterday, we had a sub. His name is Mr. Smith. He showed us a trick with his gyroscope. And it was cold outside. On rainy day, i played pick up sticks with Dianne. We had fun and she won!

Yesterday, we had a new student. It is a girl. Her name is Barbara. I made her somthing. Our teacher told us we are going to have a asembly. She won't tell us what it is about. Today is report card day. I wonder if i get good grades.

I am hungry. I like to work on idioms and cursive. It took my dad a year to learn cursive. My brother has alot of energy. Even when he's tired. he gets into lots of things. I like to play with my sister. she is very nice. we always play together. i love my family. i love everyone who i know.

I'm going to go to katikisem. I used to go to girl scout. I went with my cousin Ani. we had lots of fun. we made lots of friends. they had a playground. We made a jewelery box. We also made little flower magnets. I will make friends at katikisem. this time I'll go by myself. I was six years old in the girl scouts. I like school. I make friends. I like: the class and Mrs. Brown and Vince too. I have fun with my friends. On fridays i like it because I stay up until 10:00.
